“After reviewing your public experience and your commitment to working families, we think you will be a great asset when you are re-elected,” states the endorsement. “The Building Trades Craft Unions are proud to support your campaign, and we offer our assistance in helping your re-election campaign.”

  • Their support is a significant boost to the mayor, whose candidacy they supported four years ago.

Sidhu was elected in 2018 at the head of a broad-based coalition, defeating Democrats Ashleigh Aitken and former Councilwoman Lorri Galloway. During his tenure the city has made major headway regarding homelessness, the revitalization of West Anaheim, preserving city services during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, and providing leadership in negotiating a ground-breaking development agreement to keep the Angels in Anaheim for another fifty years.

Sidhu’s campaign reported raising $207,353 (primarily at his June re-election kick-off fundraiser), and has $205,727 cash-on-hand.

  1. We should be separating OC from the crazies up in la.. thanks man think

  2. Dog bites man.

I guess we’ll be seeing a steady drumbeat of these dog-bites-man stories over the next 15 months.

    • Matthew Cunningham

This is significant political news regarding the upcoming mayoral election, Vern. No one is asking you to like it.

  3. The mayor is doing a horrible job managing the city. We are $75 million in debt and the stadium “deal” transfers about half a billion dollars from the pockets of Anaheim residents into the pocket of Arte Moreno. Not good.

    • You’re right about the Mayor and the Stadium Heist, but I think our debt is about ten times what you said, and most of that predates Covid. (Unless we’re subtracting that huge loan they took out.)

The Stadium Heist got Harry elected, and is his doing, and the Building Trades love it because they hope to get a lot of good paying work out of it… and this is why the Building Trades endorsing Harry for re-election is a “dog eats man story.”

They are NOT a group of unions that cares about the public treasury or the public good.

      • Mr. Nelson.

You are unemployed felon. You have been credibly accused of sexual assault. You are a RACIST.

I don’t think you carry much weight. Especially since I sent Ashley and her Father Donna’s text string. What would a Girl Scout troop leader say?
